Pictures and Details Together is a free printable Grade 1 English worksheet on using illustrations and details to describe the story, aligned to Common Core standard RL.1.7. It prints 2 questions with an answer key on its own sheet of paper, in 25 versions, 23 of them with different questions, so no two pupils in the class work from the same page. Print it from the browser or download it as a PDF — no account, no email.
Set 5 of 25 · the same problems every time you open this link.
Set 1 has all 25 in a single PDF. 23 of these 25 sets ask different questions — this skill does not have 25 questions to give. The rest reorder them, so no two pupils have the same paper in front of them.

The Boots by the Door
Priya's boots were too small. Her toes pressed against the ends. But they were red, and she loved them.
For a week she said nothing. Then she could not run at playtime without it hurting.
She told her mum. Her mum did not laugh. They took the red boots to the charity shop and found a bigger pair, green this time. Priya kept the red ones by the door for a month before she let them go.
1. What would a picture of the end of the story show?
2. Where did they get the new boots?

One Glove
Maya found one green glove on the wall by the bus stop. It was small, so it belonged to a child.
She could not just leave it. She pinned a note to the wall: FOUND — ONE GREEN GLOVE. ASK AT NUMBER 12.
For three days nobody came. On the fourth day a boy knocked. He had the other green glove in his hand.
1. Where does the story begin?
