  1. 1.1. Searching at sea and getting people off the boat. 2. The pagers going off and the volunteer crew getting to the station. 3. The whole text is a sequence, and numbers would show the order at a glance.
  2. 2.1. How strong earthquakes are, and how buildings are made to cope. 2. It would say that part is about how strong earthquakes are, so a reader could find it. 3. How plates catch on each other and pressure builds up.
