Market Day
On Saturdays, Grandpa took Omar to the market. Omar carried the basket. Grandpa carried the money. Omar's job was to pick the apples. He learned to press each one gently with his thumb. A soft spot meant the apple would be brown inside. One week Grandpa let Omar carry the money instead. Omar counted the change twice. He got it right both times.

One Glove

For three days nobody came. On the fourth day a boy knocked. He had the other green glove in his hand.
