Market Square Stall List

A list of stalls posted at the entrance to the Tuesday market. TUESDAY MARKET Stall 1: vegetables, grown at Hill Farm. Stall 2: fish, brought from the coast. Stall 3: cheese, made at Ford Dairy. Stall 4: cloth, woven in the town. Stall 5: oranges and lemons, brought from Spain.

Museum Label: Mill Shuttle

A label beside an object in the town museum. WEAVING SHUTTLE Made of boxwood, about 1868. Used at Bridge Mill, which stood by the river. The mill employed 200 people, many of them children. Given to the museum by the Shaw family in 1954.
