Newspaper Report: The Flood
A report in the town newspaper, printed two days after the flood of 1912. THE RIVER OVER ITS BANKS On Tuesday the river rose after three days of rain. Water reached the doors of the houses on Mill Row. The bridge was closed and the mill stopped for a day. Neighbours carried furniture upstairs. The council has promised to raise the river wall.
