Same Topic, Different Facts is a free printable Grade 1 English worksheet on finding what two texts share and where they differ, aligned to Common Core standard RI.1.9. It prints 2 questions with an answer key on its own sheet of paper, in 25 versions, 24 of them with different questions, so no two pupils in the class work from the same page. Print it from the browser or download it as a PDF — no account, no email.
Set 11 of 25 · the same problems every time you open this link.
Set 1 has all 25 in a single PDF. 24 of these 25 sets ask different questions — this skill does not have 25 questions to give. The rest reorder them, so no two pupils have the same paper in front of them.

How Milk Gets to the Shop
A dairy cow is milked twice a day, in the morning and the evening.
The milk goes straight into a cold tank. Cold milk keeps fresh much longer than warm milk.
A tanker takes the milk to a dairy. There it is heated for a few seconds to kill germs, then cooled again fast. This is called pasteurising.
Last, the milk is poured into bottles and driven to the shop.
1. How is making milk ready like making honey?
2. How is milk different from honey?
2.Read the text, then answer the questions.
How Seeds Travel
A seed cannot grow in its parent's shadow. There is not enough light. So seeds have to move away.
Some seeds have wings. A sycamore seed spins like a tiny helicopter and lands far from the tree.
Some seeds hook onto fur. A burr catches on a passing fox and drops off somewhere new.
Some seeds sit inside fruit. A bird eats the fruit and the seed comes out later, miles away.
1. How is a sycamore seed different from a burr?
2. How is a sycamore seed like a burr?

Answer key — Same Topic, Different Facts
Set 11. Prints on its own sheet.
1.1. Both follow a fixed set of steps — nectar to honey, and milk from cow to shop — before the food reaches people. 2. Milk comes from a cow and is heated by people; honey is made by bees from nectar.
2.1. A sycamore seed travels on the wind; a burr has to hook onto an animal. 2. Both are ways a seed gets away from the parent tree.
