Where and When It Happens is a free printable Grade 1 English worksheet on describing the setting and the order of events, aligned to Common Core standard RL.1.3. It prints 2 questions with an answer key on its own sheet of paper, in 25 versions, 23 of them with different questions, so no two pupils in the class work from the same page. Set 10 of 25 · the same problems every time you open this link.
Set 1 has all 25 in a single PDF. 23 of these 25 sets ask different questions — this skill does not have 25 questions to give. The rest reorder them, so no two pupils have the same paper in front of them.

One Glove
Maya found one green glove on the wall by the bus stop. It was small, so it belonged to a child.
She could not just leave it. She pinned a note to the wall: FOUND — ONE GREEN GLOVE. ASK AT NUMBER 12.
For three days nobody came. On the fourth day a boy knocked. He had the other green glove in his hand.
1. Where does the story begin?
2. How many days passed before the boy knocked?
2.Read the text, then answer the questions.
Too Loud
The school band practised in the hall every Thursday. Sam played the drum. He liked it best when he could hit it hard.
"Softer," said Mrs Otu. "The flutes cannot be heard."
Sam did not want to play softly. But he tried it. This time he could hear the flutes too, winding above the drum like a bird. It sounded better than anything he had played before.
1. What happened after Sam tried playing softly?
2. Where does this story happen?
