A poster on a lamp post, made by the Oak Street neighbours group. OAK STREET FAIR Saturday 12 June, from 11 until 4. Cake stall, games and music. The road will be closed to cars all day. Money raised will pay for new trees on the street.

Oak Street, Fifty Years Ago

A cutting from the town newspaper, kept in the library. OAK STREET GETS ITS FIRST SHOP A baker has opened on Oak Street. Before this, people walked to the Market Square for bread. The walk took half an hour each way. Mrs Hall said she was glad not to walk so far.
