  1. 1.1. The report places Whately's within a regional pattern rather than treating it as a single event. 2. The mill gates on the Friday, with the 214 leaving. 3. It could set the five closures since 1975 against their dates and job losses.
  2. 2.1. It could show textile employment falling from 1965 to 1990 against national employment. 2. Which towns held the mills, to make the concentration argument visible. 3. Because mills were the only employer in particular towns, the losses show in those towns' populations rather than in national ones.
