  1. 1.1. One horse pulling thirty tons on water against two tons on a road. 2. Locks, water supply, freezing and three miles an hour were limits a railway did not share, so railways won on reliability and reach. 3. It could show where canals could and could not go, which is the argument about watersheds.
  2. 2.1. The widened spaces between brain cells with fluid moving through them. 2. Experiences are replayed and moved to long-term storage during deep sleep, so interrupting it reduces recall. 3. Each claim could be named, so a reader could find the memory claim without rereading.
